Lovin’ That Jazz, May 23rd, 2017
Join us for a night of Lovin’ That Jazz hosted by Canadian Jazz singer, voice over actress, broadcaster and educator Heather Bambrick. Songs will be performed about falling in love, heartbreak, and the feelings that love brings. Be wowed by 3 amazing a capella powerhouses from Toronto, Cadence, Countermeasure and The Watch, presenting old favourites and original love songs throught the language of Jazz. They will create new elements and moods for these songs with their own unique way of playing their instruments…their voices.
Cadence has been wowing audiences across the country and around the world for nearly 20 years. Whether performing at sold-out jazz clubs and concert halls, at music festivals, for educational outreach, or for corporate functions, the four members of Cadence bring an uncanny verve to every song they sing.
Countermeasure is the new sound in vocal music, known for their sophisticated arrangements, seamless harmonies, lively performances and infectious energy. Their dramatically choreographed show, where every song tells a story, has received standing ovations and critical acclaim worldwide. Featuring 14 of Canada’s top harmony singers, their genre-defying contemporary sound takes a cappella to the next level.
The Watch is Toronto’s most exciting new vocal quartet. Made up of a cappella veterans Dylan Bell, Art Mullin, Daniel Galessiere, and Aaron Jensen, this multifarious foursome celebrates a songbook that ranges from swinging bebop tunes, to R&B anthems – from contemporary choral originals to classic pop songs.
